OUR R&D JOURNEY
The Ultimate Jig Holder and Rod Protector! Dual Functionality Perfected – SnapGuard seamlessly combines the convenience of a jig holder with the robust protection of a rod guard. Experience the best of both worlds in one remarkable product.
Tip wrap is a prevalent issue in traditional slow pitch jigging rods, causing damage to the smaller guides and, in a bad case, a broken rod tip.
Slow Pitch Jigging rods are used with the forearm resting on the butt section, essentially having the rod as an extension of the arm.
Next Gen rear grip on our 2022 SPJ, Light Jigging, and Light Spin Casting rods. They are specially designed for “under-arm” type rods, contoured to fit our palm during casting, and have a slim profile for comfort when fighting fish.
Because of the thin diameter of SPJ rods, we were concerned if the blank could handle the torsional stress induced by a spiral guide train. Dr. Wang Chen, a scientist from A*Star, seconded to our company, conducted a study using the Finite Element Method, a computer modeling simulator. A copy of this study is available here:
(patent pending) This device that snaps onto the rod holds the fisherman’s lure/jig when not used. Very convenient when moving between spots. We did not commercialize it because of tooling costs, but we are still working on improved versions for the future. We are now working on the 3.0 version. Pic shown is the first 3D printed prototype.
The Direct Sensory SystemTM (DSS) – a groundbreaking and meticulous method of rod construction that enhances sensitivity and feel.
Fishermen all over the world are seeking lighter and more robust equipment. On the other hand, nobody wants to use heavy and cumbersome equipment.
We needed a solution for a prevalent SPJ rod issue – Tip Wrap. Tip wrap is common and can happen to amateurs and pros, and tip wrap can break a rod tip if not careful.
With feedback from our prostaff, we needed an SPJ rod to cater to fishermen on long-range boats.
Introducing a groundbreaking innovation in multi-piece heavy-duty travel fishing rods. While most manufacturers have attempted this design with mixed results, they failed to gain the confidence of mainstream anglers.
Line fouling on the tip of heavy-duty spinning rods is annoying. In extreme cases, lines can break, lose expensive lures, or damage or dislodge guides.
In 2014 we were the first brand to introduce rods with prism finish, which has become our signature color.
